SURVEY SAYS

More than the bottom line

Smartronix insiders make it clear that “employee morale is very good” because everyone feels that “the company is very good to us.”  “We have an ethos that includes the idea that ‘not all profit is cash,’” a senior source explains.  And a colleague agrees, “It was important to me that I end up with a company that valued me as a person and not just a line on a spreadsheet with a revenue and profit metric attached.  I’ve found that with Smartronix.  I've been here six years and have no intentions of going anywhere else.”

Tips from the inside

Getting to know you

The specifics of the hiring process at Smartronix varies, but we’re told there’s a commonality there, in that it’s typically “informal and comfortable,” with a focus on “behavioral interviewing.”  The firm looks for people who will “fit into the work culture,” which most staffers say is a real plus.  “It was nice to know that the company cares if everyone will fit together so that we can be productive,” remarks one recent hire.  A colleague recalls, “Questions were asked in such a way to give details of my experience, thus proving my capability for the job at hand.” And another adds that “typically, we ask in detail about a project [the candidate has] worked on from start to finish.”  Another possible question might be: “Tell me about the most interesting job you have worked on and why you feel this way.”
